Partner isn't yet in casual. The servers have separate user lists.

When things got busy for BBO, they found the traffic was too high. So they split things into two halves. And the two servers do not seem able to talk to each other. It seems like a poor solution to me, one that has virtually killed a lot of play on BBO.

Anyway, when you log into BBO, you are placed on the competitive side. You can hop servers, by clicking on the casual button, but when you do, you cannot see anyone still on the competitive side, and they no longer see you. You are seen to be logged off from the perspective of the other side.

So you need to tell partner to follow you to the other side, BEFORE you move over.
