Hi all

we play against strong 1 or 2 opening a convention which is aclled in Germany TIMBUKTU.

bid of a suit after 1!C (strong) shows either a 1-suiter above the suit bid or a 2-suiter with the 2 reamining suits:

1 1 shows either -onsesuiter or a black 2-suiter

1 1 shows a -onesuiter or a minor 2-suiter

etc.

Does anyone know this convention?
What is it called in US or other countries?
Can anyone me provide with a link for detailed description

Many thanks in advance

Al

It's simply called suction. The tough version is called "psycho suction", you should try google for that!

There's also inverted psycho suction, which I suspect is only played because people like the name. Psycho suction is better to play.

Another part of suction that has not been mentioned is NT= pointies or rounds. (Is this standard in suction?)

In Norway this convention is called Yeslek both as a defence vs strong 1/2 and vs 1NT.
Kind regards,
