This topic will only be of interest to people who do Vugraph Commentary

Often, the commentator would like to direct a private question to the vugraph operator either to keep private - or to make it easier for operator to know that some input is needed.

The problem is that the list of people at the table does not include the operator.

Since the operator bbo account / table relationship won't be known until the table is actually setup, it isn't feasible for the e-mail assignments to be the source of the information.

It seems that only a software solution can handle the Use Case.
The best solution will be one that not only helps the commentators, but

Options seem to include, but not be limited to:

1) display vugraph operator account in table's drop-down list
[either yellow or some unique color]
2) Conditional flag such that only someone who can act as operator at that table can see the operator's name
3) Choice in Chat to send private to Operator

Best implementation might consider other Use Cases such as:

A) Operator sometimes wants to identify who at table is commentator to send
A1) private message to individual commentator
A2) private message to all commentators

:D Commentator wants to identify other commentators
B1) to send private chat to all assigned commentators
B2) to see if there are any people in the room who are unlocked but not
assigned to the table

C) Commentators and Operators need to be able to communicate in private even if one or more does not include +++ in profile

[current implementation may already cover one or both directions - but I have no good way to test]

That is correct, but you can still identify him/her. It's trivial with say 2 tables up, and takes a little more work with 12 (as was the case yesterday).

Click on Lobby and you get to see all the yellows in the column to the left. All operators have an account with vugraph??? displayed. Move your mouse down the list of operators and find the one who has the same text you see in the vugraph room (marked on the top banner).

He/she is the one who operates in your room.

in my experience not all operators are visible in lobby to common mortals. Roland as a yellow sees all who are logged on, even invisible.
anyhow the solution i use is when the table where i will comment is announced (by the operator) is to immediately add the operator to my friends list.

They are actually, because they can't get spectators (except yellows) to the table if they start a broadcast as invisible. That's why all practice is done in invisible mode. Then no broadcast will be announced on print or via the flashing banner.

With this said, your solution is excellent.
