Playing 2/1 but with our wacky 12-16 1NT opening, you are dealt:
Scoring: IMP

Partner opens 1, which either shows clubs or 17-20 balanced [which could still have clubs]

You respond 1, now 2NT from partner which shows 19-20 balanced. A four card major in partner's hand is still possible.

What is your next bid? How do you see the auction proceeding?
Is slam a realistic possibility?

thanks to all and Happy New Year!!! :P

Partner could have Kxxx AKx Kxx AKx or xxxx AKx Kx AKJx, right? So, sure slam is possible.

What are your methods here? Is 3 forcing?

I would bid 3 assuming that it is forcing and natural. Let us see what partner does over that.

Game in NT or diamonds is our most likely spot, but I suppose that a slam is remotely possible. It seems a little optimistic to me.

Yes, any bid is forcing here.

3 by now, If partner bids 3 I bid 3, if partner bids 3NT I pass, over 3 I am blasting 5.

I bid 3 then over either major I bid 3NT, since I only want to offer a mild suggestion, if partner pulls that I'll give him a spade cuebid and again leave it up to him.
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.

I would agree with josh's approach. I would prefer to be playing transfers, where I could bid 3 then (over the mandatory 3) bid 3N to show a hand with mild slam interest without the opps learning anything specific about partner's hand unless he was also interested, but that is a minor point.
