Riotous laughter.

I can understand 3♣. Colors... good hand to play in a major (relatively speaking) etc... not really my choice and I preempt way too much as it is. I think Roger laughing at me tempered me somewhat.

BTW one of the funniest hands I ever saw, it went 3♣ X, and responder was 2290 and bid 5♣. Fourth player had three clubs and bid some slam, and watched the defense start A K ruff in clubs as the doubler also had three.

I didn't see anything wrong on south's bidding really. Bidding twice after a preempt is something silly, justified maybe if you had a 4 level opening that didn't wanna bypass 3NT (or the system didn't let it open). But not the case.
