Maybe:

1H - 2D
2S - 3S
5D - 5N
6H - 7S

Of course this auction isn't recommended with a partner who might pass 5

A bit of our system that comes up once in a blue moon helps here (and with these particular two suits I don't think it's a very good bit of system, but it works better with other suits):

1-2
3-4
4-4N
6-7

3 shows at least 5-6 two good suits, not a particularly good hand which would use a GF not necessarily balanced 2N with 5-4 or go thru 2/3 with 6-5, 4N is keycard, unclear if in / at this point, but response will be given in , 6 is 2, Q and a void.

I will appreciate if you can explain your bidding please.
It seems to me 5 is exclusion blackwood here and 6 asks for a feature in hearts? . . . not sure.
Bidding a void in partner's suit seems to be very orthodox . . . where do this apply in other bidding sequences?

I'd bid 6D over 5NT (6C would ask for the trump queen), then 6H with the north hand and 7S with the south hand.
and the result can be plotted on a graph.

Why does somebody who spends so much time playing and reading about bridge and who has played international bridge for such a long time bid like an idiot? I'm saying this because I think you are a great guy and probably a very good bridge player. I don't understand why you even would consider opening 1S with such a powerful 5-7 hand, nor why you would rebid 2H instead of 2S. It seems terrible to me, maybe I'm missing something. Maybe it was a joke.

I too was astonished at Fuffy's post.

How to bid this hand to its full potential?

Any system, or specifically American?

My version...
S. 1H = 10-17, 5+ suit
N. 1S = 10+, 0-3 hearts
S. 2C = 4+ spades
N. 3S = 4+ spades, SI
S. 4N = accept slam try, controls in all suits, side void
N. 5C = asks for void
S. 5D = diamond void
N. 5H = RKCB
S. 6D = 2/5 with SQ
N. 6H = HK, SK, CA and ambition for 7
S. 7S

For a natural system I guess...
1H - 2D
2S - 3S
4C - 4D
4S - 4N
5N - 6H(?!)
7S

I think using exclusion in partner's suit on round 3 is asking for trouble unless you have an explicit agreement. Without this agreement you might need a bit of a leap of faith to reach the grand (as here). With the agreement it is simple (as others have already shown). With a pick-up partner on BBO I'd be happy enough with a small slam and expect a good score.
