Remembering that this is the GIB forum, so we're only concerned about GIB's actions...

After West's support redouble, I would think that North's pass should show an indifference between the black suits, not a desire to defend redoubled at the 1 level; South's gotta bid.

I would define North's pass differently. It says I have nothing to say. On this hand, I would bid 2. Partner asked me to bid a black suit, and I have 4 clubs and only 2 spades.

As for the pass of the redouble in passout seat, OUCH!

I agree that North's pass is clearly not correct on this hand, which is why I started by pointing out that this is the GIB thread and South's bidding was my primary concern. However, I'm puzzled as to the difference between my definition of North's pass and yours, other than possibly adding that your definition excludes being able to bid 1NT, which I meant to imply with mine.
