Yeah. For now it seems Nickell had a lot of luck to keep it even. My impression from yesterday was that Ivatury team played better bridge. Keep it up!

It is very popular in the USA, not just for trials but also in the Vanderbilt, Spingold and in many Swiss events.

I expect security is the principal reason. Nowadays most events run on a pre-determined schedule but in the past I believe the captains could agree their own schedule and meal breaks. In such circumstances boards could be played at different times.

On a practical note, anything you hear from an adjacent table is irrelevant. We've have many boards thrown out at Brighton and other congresses because someone at the next table has been talking loudly about a hand.

Certainly in head to head matches I see no reason for the same boards to be played. In a Swiss event, there is a far stronger case for playing the same hands.
