I started a thread about this in the BBO Support Forum, it's apparently a bug in the Safari 5.1 update that came out a couple of weeks ago.
I haven't had the problem with Chrome, but I don't do much chatting in BBO because I mostly play against bots.

For the spoken commentary on the Spingold I ended up using IE on the XP. First I started to just use the downloadable BBO, then remembered that I had to use the online version. So I tried, from Firefox. I had trouble getting the voices. So I logged out and re-logged in with IE, or tried to. IE said I needed Flash, Flash said I could download, but, when I tried to download, it told me that currently Flash won't work with 64 bit technology. So the hell with it, downstairs to use the seven year old XP.
Stuff that works, stuff that holds up, the kind of stuff you don't hang on the wall.
The live audio was a really good show.

Perhaps we should have another poll in which we ask people both what browser they use and how good a bridge player they are, and then correlate the results?

I see you love to waste time.....noted.....
I am not shocked...people love to waste time at work esp if they are on salary...
When I worked on a salary ....I figure 90% or more wasted most of day........as they study this issue or others....waste of time....

They love to waste time...study issues....but never grow business.....no.

So why didn't you include Camino as a poll option?
I actually used Camino for a short while, but have long since switched back to Opera (and soon thereafter back to Linux). I also use Iceweasel (a rebranded Firefox) for some things like BBO.

But there hasn't been a study: the paper and press release are a hoax. The BBC reported the results, despite being told the whole story was unsound, and only retracted when the perpetrators admitted it was a hoax. This lamentable behaviour was reported on More or Less.

At work IE.
I like FF but I don't know why so many dislike IE. For me it's just another browser.

Also, many people just have a general bias against anything Microsoft.
