Hey everyone,
First things first, I'm eager to establish a serious partnership (well, semi-serious, since I'm not playing pro), so please let me know if you are interested! :)

Basic introduction of myself.
I've started playing during high school in Taiwan, and fell in love with bridge ever since.
In Taiwan, I've done okay during my student years, winning 2 National University Championships and was selected to the Taipei Youth Team in 2004.

After graduating, I had to focus more on my job, and therefore only played randomly, nothing competitive. (BTW, I'm 29 now.)
Also, it's pretty hard finding a regular partner in Taiwan, especially after graduation. (Haha, it definitely is not because I'm an awful partner...hopefully :))
Now, due to my work, I will be moving to New Jersey for a minimum of two years. I've always looked forward to having a chance to play bridge in the US, where the bridge population is incredible compared to Taiwan. So if anyone's interested, please let me know. :)

I think I'm basically adequate in regards to bridge skills, but I've always felt bridge skills are quite hard to gauge.
Most importantly though, I am open to discussions, and I am more open-minded than most other players that I know.
Lastly, even though I've been in Taiwan for a long time, I used to live in Maryland during my childhood years, so English is not a big problem.
I will need to brush up on English bridge terms though, since I only started playing bridge in Chinese. :)

Below is my email address, feel free to shoot me a mail if you are interested, have questions, or just want to get to know each other.

My contact e-mail:pheno_huang@htc.com

Thanks for taking your time to read this, hope to see you guys on BBO or the actual tournaments!

Best regards,
Pheno (John) Huang

In my opinion BBO forum is not a good place to find regular partner in your local area. I suggest you searching ACBL website(see below) and finding local bridge clubs in your area.
http://www.acbl.org/play/findClub.html

You can probably find partnership desk on the website of local bridge club. For example, something like
http://www.eastbayun...2.com/id17.html (this one is the club in my area)

If you cannot find it just try to go to club/sectional/regional events and there are usually some people putting their name on partnership desk(i.e. searching partner for upcoming tournament) so you can play with them and perhaps establishing regular partnership. For sectional/regional schedule search

By the way I'm Frank and my bbo id is frank0. I'm also from Taiwan. If you're interesting in playing online I'll be on BBO sometimes. You can contact me by email(cyclopropene@hotmail.com).

Hi Frank,
Thank you for your precious suggestions, I'm not yet familiar with the bridge eco system in US, and your tips are very very helpful!
I'll drop you a mail, and maybe we can get to know each other, thank you once again.

Best regards,
John

There's a club in Bridgewater with games pretty much every afternoon and some evenings. Also there's a new club that just opened up in Branchburg, which is right next door. Unfortunately, due to work, I don't make it up that way too often. You should be able to pick up a partner relatively easily at those clubs, but call a few days in advance.

I'd still be happy to play a bit on BBO to see if we're compatible.

Hi wyman,
Thanks a lot for the information! :)
I'll definitely take a look at these places when I arrive in NJ.

Also, I would love to play a bit to see how we mesh. :)
