Recent hand from a f2f event.
You open 3S nv vs vul on

The bidding proceeds (P) P (3NT)
I am curious as to what posters would lead here and why

♥9. The lack of double puts some hearts in partner's hand?

Also, he rates to not have a heart void when he leads the ♥3.

not a minor suit.
spade lead probably needs pard to have 2+ spades, so not ace spades.
that leaves any other spade or a heart
i try a low spade

It's hard for me to believe that anything other than a spade is right at IMPs, our spades are pretty good and leading a spade rates to be hugely correct if partner has 2. Leading a heart has other problems, the 9 is more dangerous than it looks, and it may give declarer a tempo/entry he's not entitled to. If you're going to lead a spade, it's going to be the queen--not to cater to stiff J in dummy, since we have no side entry anyway, but because if dummy comes down with Jx we don't want to give declarer an undeserved dummy entry.
I feel like a lot of people go through the thought process of "spade or non-spade", settle on "non-spade", and then decide to lead a heart. This is really wrong. Obviously "non-spade" is better than "spade" if you always know which of the non-spade suits to lead, but you don't.
The lead is harder at MP, I guess I'd go with a heart and try not to give up a trick.

Well, if you are going to lead a S, I think you should lead a low one.
I never get these right.

Indeed, if spade, then low. But a heart might be better, on grounds of not blowing a trick and opps not having tried for a heart fit.
Of course, if pard happens to have ♠xx and a side ace that needs to be toppled, I'm gonna look silly LOL.

Shouldn't partner have doubled with that?

" In my world a double says lead our suit." --jdeegan
*** Since with no direction, partner often leads his suit,
*** this double is better played to ask a Heart.
*** In my world a double says lead a heart.
*** This is sometimes agreed that the likely
*** solid suit is the one below the suit bid.
*** Here unbid Major is featured by a lead-direct double.
