Why was the seventh spade put into the OP? 6-1-4-2 seems fine for Lamford's agenda (poll?).

Kran: I'd open 1...no 3...no I got too much D...but it's red/red...

I'm not sure what that's a vote for lol.

I prefer 3, but 1 is ok too. I wouldn't consider 4 playing 'standard' but if your preempts are quite aggressive then this might qualify.

I agree that it doesn't seem right to open 3 on hands with "so much defence", but it's hard to see how this hand falls into this category. In practice, this sort of hand tends to take more defensive tricks if you open 3 than if you open 1, as a 3 opener will often persuade an opponent to play your partner for high cards outside spades.

Would you also open 1 on QJ10xxxx 2 KJ2 32?

Playing standard methods, nothing but 3 would occur to me.

Playing non-standard methods, what would you prefer to open? 2 showing hearts or spades, perhaps?

Would open 1, we play 1st seat as a "gun" position so partner is not going to expect this much defence in a 3 bid.

Ugly to be honest. Heavy on defence for 3S, way too rubbish for 4S, too light for 1S. I'm half tempted to pass but in reality I'd open 3S.

Wasn't there a thread about this a while back? If we are N/S, we are:
Board 1: at Love all
Board 2: at (in?) Red
Board 3: at Green
Board 4: at Game all

Well this was just one of the British usages, there was also Amber for unfavourable and some other expressions.
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

You also sometimes hear White -> Red -> Green -> Amber but I usually just say WE (or THEY) [are vulnerable] together with Love All and Game All. Or alternatively "I looked at the colours for once!" for a particularly cowardly or foolhardy action.

Well this was just one of the British usages, there was also Amber for unfavourable and some other expressions.

That's a mixture of two terminologies. The normal English terms are "Love all", "Unfavourable", "Favourable" and "Game all". You will often see these in print, and they even appear in the ACBL Encylopedia of Bridge. Colloquially, people may use "White", "Red", "Green" and "Amber". Obviously, the latter scheme is best avoided on an international forum.

No, I'd open 3, but I'd still be a bit unhappy about the outside values.

Dunno. It it doesn't feel as bad, for some reason.
