Partner deals and opens 1, partner is dealer

1-pass-1-2!
2-3-??

2!=explained as: 1NT= weak, double= strong, 2 intermediate for hearts and diamonds.

I like 4, partner's HCP's are probably in the blacks. Hopefully RHO is not waiting with 4 spades...

Also, he rates to not have a heart void when he leads the 3.

I am kind of leaning toward getting partner back in it with a fit-showing 4C call. Am willing to be in 4S if the opponents bow out, but not thrilled about it; and if they do compete with more hearts, partner is better placed than I am to decide what to do. 3S would have been my other choice.

No, 4C can't be slammish.

I assume double is a game try? I would do that. I might have bid game but the bidding increases the chance of my HK being useless, and also increases the chance of a bad spade split with the length on my right. I could have sworn I had seen this hand posted before.

I have a player of international record tell me that each hand dealt by the computer has been played before. Shee's always saying how she knew this was gonna happen, how she should have done this or that, how his/her partner should have known, 'don't you remember this hand?' etc.

Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.
