Joon Pahk (jpahk on BBO) was featured in BBO Today last month while he was on Jeopardy, and he won 5 times to become an undefeated champion. The Tournament of Champions started yesterday, and according to the Jeopardy web site he'll be competing Friday, and later next week if he wins this first round.

Just as a correction the 5 time champion thing went out years ago on Jeopardy, so you can play until you lose. Joon actually won 7 times, picking up $199,000 in Champion money (plus $2000 in 2nd place money on day 8) to become the sixth highest Jeopardy winner ever (see Jeopardy Hall of Fame). He also made bold bets in his Daily Doubles and set the record for the most money wagered as a "true daily double" when he was very confident in his math skills.

BTW does anyone know if they tape the TOC in advance like the regular shows?

They do, yes. Joon's taping was about a month ago I think.
