2h

unless the power is spread most of our power is behind most of
the opps power. The reasonable intermediates and the 7th heart
give me enough comfort to trot out my preempt while I still
can.

If the power is equally spread 2h will probably easily make but
is in danger of being missed due to a passed out hand.

I'm not happy bidding, and I am even less happy passing, so 2 it is...and I will show a bad hand with a bad suit, if playing a form of Ogust.

Second seat r/w, 3card and very weak hand. Unless I have agreed to play very light preempts I would pass.

A clear pass. Not nearly enough for 3 and I'm playing disciplined weak 2s in 1st and 2nd seat.

2 and would not have seriously considered any other option. Probably not a great shock that I agree with Mickyb given the number of his bidding rants I've been subjected to. Fwiw I wouldn't open it if I didn't have those heart pips.

I dislike 2H quite a lot with a 7 card suit. For me it's between 3H and pass, and at these colours I pass.

What is your objection to opening 2 with a 7 card suit?

I realise that people make plenty of awkward bids in attempts to describe their hands as best they can (off shape 1NT and especially 2NT openings, rebids of 3 card suits to establish a gf etc) but, although it's not perfect at all, I didn't really think that this was one of those uncomfortable stretches (although I can see that some other people bidding it do).

If your objection is that 2 is not a good description of the hand, is pass really a better one?

Very obvious 2 bid. A 3-bid only if the singleton were spades.

Yeah 2H is standard to me. What's wrong with having a 7 card suit?
