2 hand

2nt of north is 12-14 5332 hand suitable for play nt then what better bid 4h or 4for splinter?

3° hand

South what bid: 2nt inv + unlimited and 4 or 8-9 points and 4

x looking for game we might make game if p has as little as
xxxx x Axxx xxxx but there is no sense in hoping for a perfecto
hand so we invite hoping that p has sufficient non wasted values
to make game plausible

4h its just not feasible p has sufficent power to make give us a
great chance in 6h unless the 2n rebid does not show dia stuff.
If p can rebid 2n with no dia stop then splinter else sign off.

support with support do not torture p bid 3d which should show
spade support and inv+ hand. If p has extra values maybe slam
is in the picture if p shows minimum be happy with game.

I was unsure what your description meant If you meant a bid of 2n
was forcing and showed various spade support I would go with
that instead of 3d.

Hand 1 - definitely make a maximal double (game try). Unless RHO has been very aggressive, partner is likely not to have more than a stiff . double protects you if partner has made an extremely agressive spade raise.

Hand 2 - Partner didn't raise , so chances of there being enough for a light HCP slam based on a big 2 suited fit are diminished. So I think direct 4 is right.

Hand 3 - Opener could still have a really good hand that may make exploration for slam feasible. So I'd take a positive view of the hand and show a limit plus raise (I think you were indicating this was a 2 NT bid.) If the A had been in or , I would have splintered.

  • Double to invite 4
  • 4. I don't agree with 2. I would have bid 1.
  • 2nt. If partner then bids 3, I will bid 4.
