Team game, opponents (pick up expert pdship) are playing 2/1. "No agreement" is what you are told when you asked if 2 is constructive or not.

Your turn ..

Pass is my idea.vulnerable is adverse to us after Opps' openning and responding.
I cannot carry out a Game Contract but west can.
IF
LHO Kxxxx Kx AJxx Kx
RHO Axx Jxx(x) Qxx(X) xxx
as my competition, west can easily find any Honor(s) outside in my hand.
At the same time, competion with a semi-balanced hands is dangerous.

Systemically, my partner does not have
4+H with a S-singleton (T/O Dbl or Q-bid),
nor 4+H with 5+D (Raptor 1NT), nor 15+.
So I try 3C.
Let me guess, your team's T/O Dbl got 3D response on D:4-2,
doubled to run to 4C?

Passing is too risky for me here.
From Psych "I mean, Gus and I never see eye-to-eye on work stuff.
For instance, he doesn't like being used as a human shield when we're being shot at.
I happen to think it's a very noble way to meet one's maker, especially for a guy like him.
Bottom line is we never let that difference of opinion interfere with anything."

Double, there must be more to come.

My pd also suggested that i should have taken action with this hand, i thought it was close but looking at responses i think it is not as close i thought it was. I passed, whether you bid or pass doesnt change the outcome of the board they will end up playing 4 for down 1 while we can make 4.

I asked this because at the time i had quite hard time to decide whether i should bid or not.

I thought this was a X or 3 question, I never considered passing honestly.

Its an alternative for me (obviously since i passed)

I am definetely not advocating the pass but here is what went thru my mind, Josh.

- Pass and miss a game in teams, eventhough pd and i are likely to hold at most 22-23 hcp with my hand being balanced and in front of opener. But possible.

- Bid 3 , which normally requires 6 card club or a hand with 5 clubs that i can not possibly pass. And take some serious risk at these colors. I didnt think this hand was such a gem.

- DBL and hope pd bids one of my 2 suits, and play there or drag opponents to 3 level instead of letting them play a comfy 2. With the risk of playing 3, sometimes doubled.

Now i am not scared of bailing 800 or 1100 now and then but on this one i thought, rightly or wrongly, it doesnt worth it.

At the end of the day opener had minimum in hcp but 5-5 hand, responder had 5 hcp, and pd had 8 hcp with clubs, still all we could make was nothing but 3 clubs. Opener jumped to 4 anyway and went down.
