When pard's 2♠ showed 10-12 total points opposite my 12-18 total points, I was expecting my 2N to show a minimum and be a possible final contract, but the description says 15-17HCP. Why shouldn't this be a minimum since I could have bid 3N with 15-17HCP opposite 10-12 total points?

It seems as if your Bot correctly worked out that 3C would be a better contract than 2N-1 or -2; and then corrected to a making 3H/3D. I like that Bot.

To put it in simple terms about robot logic. 2S showed a diamond fit, any call that tried to avoid playing in diamonds shows extras.

I have no problem with North continuing the auction over 2NT with his unbalanced hand; I have a problem with the fact that the description given (which gets cut off) for 2NT is 15-17HCP rather than 11-14HCP.

Thanks for that explanation. I think it's icky matchpoints logic to be committed to a 4-3 minor fit, but I guess that's just the way it is.

Yes, your auction and your partner's auction was better than the yellow words. I certainly agree 15-17 is ridiculous. I suspect that description is for a different sequence, like 1H-1S-2D-2H-2NT...not for the artificial 2S rebid situation.
In the given auction and in my hypothetical, your bids are identical; the Bot's are not. There are apparently only so many things you have get a Bot to discern.
