Do you agree with bidding so far ?

What should be the rest of the auction ?
From Psych "I mean, Gus and I never see eye-to-eye on work stuff.
For instance, he doesn't like being used as a human shield when we're being shot at.
I happen to think it's a very noble way to meet one's maker, especially for a guy like him.
Bottom line is we never let that difference of opinion interfere with anything."

No.
I don't agree with North's pass in 3rd seat
I don't agree with West's raise to 3H

P P 1C 1H
dbl 4H P P
?

South might double again, in which case EW will probably end in 5H making

I was with you until you had east overcalling 1H heh. I think p p 1C X 1S 2H 2S and then we'd see some fireworks, I have no idea what would happen, east would be considering whether or not he can let partner out in 5H meanwhile south would be thinking he might make a game. TBH 5H XX seems possible lol.

I think this whole simple overcalling with really strong hands has just gone too far, like I get 1H instead of X with 1642 but here we have 4 spades and would be thrilled if partner voluntarily bid those, we have KQJxxx of hearts and are not worried about being preempted by the opps bidding spades or about having to bid hearts at even the 3 level next given that our suit is so good, and we clearly (?) have the playing strength to X and bid, and we have the type of hand where it could definitely get passed out in 1H with a game on (they are less likely to bid/balance when we have 4 spades). We even have Ax of clubs making it very unlikely to come back at 5C or something before we have got a chance to bid our suit. I'm just not seeing the point of the super heavy overcall here.

E-W to 6H. Making as the 5th Diamond sets up
except on an opening Club lead.
Do N-S sac? No, try defense [lead a club!?].
My partnership would already be in 4S before East bids.

FrancesHinden doesn't like a 3H raise with 5-trumps to A; a 5-side suit; a single in oM; a passed hand.
What not to like? Too tame?? Get to a borderline slam as here - only opening C-lead sets?

Yes, too tame lol, the other option is 4H not 2H. So we agree, 5-5 come alive! It is maybe somewhat reasonable to bid 3H if partner was third seat and you were r/w (though I would still always bid 4) but with both opps passed you know partner has extra values, and like you say you are 5-5 with a stiff spade, just bid 4.

I was with you until you had North opening 1 instead of 3.
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn

OK, I wasn't looking closely enough at the East hand.
P P 1C x 1S
2H 2S

gives East a bidding problem: technically in my methods 3S is natural, so East has to bid 3C just to make the auction nicely murky now

That's another reason for 1 by North in 3rd seat.
