No. Given the circumstances I will bid 2 a reversw, and forcing on partner. better way to show my approximate shape.
I intend to rebid inless partner raises or bids s.
If partner introduces i will rebid the minimum number of possible.
Partner doesn't need much for 6 in a pointed suit to be possible.

I prefer to open this 2.
I strongly prefer to open this 1 precision....
Be the partner you want to play with.

Because you're going to so enjoy bidding this over 1/2-3-P/X-5, get a suit into the auction early, you really want partner to bid the right suit next. Particularly important if you're playing a real diamond in an Acol context.

And 2 cannot be forcing on partner if 1 wasn't. What do you want him to do with xxx, xxxx, x, xxxxx.

How do you know there is money to take? I would bid 2S here.

Partner may easily have 5H (even if ruffing with a H honnor might not be fun), so double of 1Nt followed by takeout of clubs (available for most people) make more sense. If the double of clubs is penalty you can still bid 2S.
From Psych "I mean, Gus and I never see eye-to-eye on work stuff.
For instance, he doesn't like being used as a human shield when we're being shot at.
I happen to think it's a very noble way to meet one's maker, especially for a guy like him.
Bottom line is we never let that difference of opinion interfere with anything."

IMO 2 = 10, 2N (Art force) = 9, 2 = 8, Double = 7.
Had the bidding started 1* (Pass) 1* (1N**)
* = Precision
^^ = Natural
You seem to be even worse placed.

Cyberyeti,
Thanks. Since partner passed, I agree 2 cannot be forcing. That 1 is not forcing is irrelevant (see 1-P-1-P-2 = GF, though 1 is not forcing). With the hand you show, partner should pass.

Over 2-3-dbl-[5cl] I can afford 5 with little downside.
Over 2-3-Pass-[5cl] I can bid 5N pick a slam.

Nige1, I might have missed something but 1-P-P-1N = 10-14 balanced and does not promise a stopper.
In Precision, after 1-P-1 I do not think 1N is likely. Assuming 1N is bid, then I would venture a 3 bid.

The two auctions aren't analogous. Your partner has already shown values when you reverse (which isn't game forcing), so it makes sense that your hand could be now worth driving to game given the new information. Here, your partner has passed so you have no more expectation of being able to make game than before. As a result, you can't really have a hand that would have opened 1 but now wants to force.

Well that saves me typing exactly the same response. :)

Yes I'm sure you'll enjoy playing 5 opposite Jxxx, J10xxx, x, Qxx and 6 of anything opposite xxxx, Jxxx, xx, KQx, opening 1 and making a ToX later works much better.
