I needed a swing so I decided to bid it.

Play went:

Win lead in hand pitching a club
club to Q
club A pitching spade
ruff club
K of spades
A of spades
ruff spade high
exit with high trump

trumps and spades were 3-2 so it does come home

Because you can hardly brag if you put it in the novice section.

Yes, well played ... PhilKing and dcohio .... I overlooked the finesse for this ~25% ( ? ) slam .

Is it a slam you'd want to brag about being in though?

no i am a big coward let me play a simple 4s and look for a swing on a hand where
it doesnt appear I need a miracle. You have the AQ opposite p almost certain short club
you have a singeton heart opposite p 5 card suit (odds of them having no wasted values
there are slim to none). Your bidding has led you to a point where you should either bid 3n
or 4s however you can cue bid 4c (over 3s) to make a slam try but your p will not cooperate\
much with a min and an already perfectly described hand.

Thats the nice thing about bridge though---if you and your partner think going for it all the time
is great than go for it.
