Bid 1NT which shows 6-9 or 10 without 3 hearts and without 4 spades. In an ideal world you will be able to bid clubs next and your partner will know you have a long suit with 6-9 points. If you get passed out, hopefully you can run those clubs!

1NT trying to find partner with not ♠AJx ♥AQ10xx ♦AKx ♣xx but rather ♠Axx ♥Axxxx ♦AQx ♣ Ax. I will probably bid what is hopefully a natural 3♣ over a likely 2NT or 2♦ or 2♠.
