In one of the ACBL MP speedballs tonight. The 0% on the board wrecked a decent game, but it was still my favorite hand of the night by far:

Funny story, but no sympathy to south.

Are west's antics common in the speedballs?

I haven't seen it really. It was the last board of the 12 board event and we had just had a good result on board 10 and a terrible one on 11 so it shouldn't even be the opponent tilting. I suspected something was up after partner doubled 6!S, but I wasn't sure if it was an opponent exploding or something tricky.

south breaking cardinal rule NEVER X one contract when the opps may have
other places to run. The only thing south knows about this hand is that 6s and
7d probably don't have play and it is ummm ridiculous to x when the opps have
bashed into what appears to be an unplayable contract
