In the 5 card end position with spades trump, South needed to win 4 tricks with the lead in North:
There are 2 ways to win 4 tricks against any defense, what are they?

trick 1 lead a dia ruffing (or overruffing)
trick 2 lead a club ruffing with the K
trick 3 run the spade T and claim the last 2
trick 2 lead a club ruffing with the K

that's one way, although at the third trick I ruffed a second diamond (same result)

the other is not to ruff ♣9, but both start with a diamond from dummy.

hmmm, then there's 3 ways.
The third way is to play a heart and discard the club.
If west discards, letting east win the trick, east has to play a trump. Play low and if west plays low win the 10 and then the king, then you can do a trump coup against east.
If west plays the jack on the second trick win the king and then run the 10.
If west ruffs the first trick and returns anything, win in your hand (or in dummy if he returns a trump) and you can pick up the trump suit for no losers.
