Nope, I suppose the match vs Aussies will be a real torture

The soccer world seems to turn much faster und faster. This what was in SA a modern football model looks nowdays old fashioned

Well they weren't playing the same model, the "false 9" went out the window and they played an unfit Diego Costa instead.

I would not predict it 2 weeks ago but now I have a strong feeling, this WC can be "crazy" one like the EC that Greece won, and Chile ( or other very solid team ) could be a new Greece for example.

I still like my Brazil wins as a great passion pick.

Germany still looks like the best team the team with the most talent, but can they beat passion and home field advantage?

Can the Usa beat the group of death and make it to the round of 16?

the round of 16 would be a huge victory for USA.

As somebody pointed out to me, should Mexico somehow finish above Brazil and it's clear this is going to happen from a while before the end, we could have a very amusing spectacle at the end of the Netherlands-Chile game.

Croatia may upset one of those big countries. Any team which is capable of creating too many goal positions in offence like them is dangerous. But I would like to see them first playing another team with 11 players.

Godin should have been sent off for the elbow in the first half. England haven't really turned up.

Yes and Suarez was offside but could we finally talk about the games without mentioning the referees? It was just a great show. I disagree that England played bad, they were definitely not their best but they showed flashes of brilliance.

I was under the impression the ball came off Gerrard and that meant it wasn't offside, am I wrong about either of those things?

From what I saw of England-Uruguay England didn't play badly at all. Uruguay were fast with their contra attacks and quite good at tackling. The English more accurate with their passes. Uruguay became very passive after they came on lead with the first goal. Over-all I didn't think England deserved to lose although I might be wrong as I didn't see the whole match.

I only watched the second half. England was playing a lot of high crosses into the box - which is by many these days considered a low percentage tactic. See e.g.

The European footballing authorities (through UEFA) were the most vocal in alleging corruption by FIFA. Blatter & Co found a way to punish us all!
