Minor penalty card

As defender playing a winning card to a trick I inadvertently pulled the club 2 as well & it became exposed thus being a minor penalty card. Am I obliged to lead that card or can I switch to another suit?

This is covered by Law 50C. You can play whatever you want provided you don't play another small (2-9) club.
