Hi - My friend and I live in different cities and thought it would be fun to play together as a pair. We sign on to BBO choose Start a Table, choose IMP's and enter our names and then wait, and wait and wait. Finally someone or a pair shows up, plays a hand or two and then leaves, to be replaced by a robot. This continues ad infitum and is very, very frrustraing. Further, the opps who do show up seem to be people with about 10-50 signons - usually not very good players. We are by no means great players but it sure would be nice to be able to play 10-20 hands against another pair or at least against decent opps. Is there something I am missing in trynig to set up games in this manner?
Thanks - rivlinj

You could try one of the clubs, for example WJ refugees.

Or play tournaments.
The world would be such a happy place, if only everyone played Acol :) --- TramTicket

If you advertise for a pair, rather than two players, you are much more likely to get people who stay.
