Needless to say, length points exist in and for itself.
IMO,I strongly suggest that all of 9hcp hands with any 5+cards suit are forcing to game.
Any idea?
I would agree with good 5+ card suit. Often where your cards are is more important than weather min/max. Which is why many experts have done away with 2N invites and just decide to pass 1N or goto 3N.
But Gib's diamond suit is not good is missing A & K so should only invite. Sure on obvious ♠ lead makes 3N but is down even with you having AK♦ on ♥ or ♣ (&♥ switch) lead which on an other day may be the obvious lead.
You mean you only agree with good 5+ card suit.
The problem is how to define "good 5+card suit "?
Generally speaking, good 5+card suit should have 3-card honor or two top cards in it,how many probobility are there to get such" good suit" in the face of pd's strong 1nt?
As we know that the bridge game is only probobility game. There are not 100% successful contract.
