In just a few weeks Trump and his ship of fools have turned the USA from a country famed for producing effective vaccines, world class research and a strong economy to a country that is sickly, poor and dumb.
An apple a day isn't going to cure this problem.

I was always miserable at solving mystery novels.
The only one that I recall every figuring out before the end was an Agatha Christie novel that involved a character contracting rubella and having their child born deaf because of it

The Mirror Crack'd from Side to Side?

How pathetic
Destroying the value of their markets and raking in tariff revenue
The USA

So much for all these successful business people running the place

And supported by all these commie hating tax hating gun toting libertarians

All wanting to live off tariffs rather than work and business and investment

Who are we supposed to hate more Dem or GoP. Those of us who believe in work, business, investment, freedom, enterprise, profit. What else do we believe in. Libertarianism. Freedom from taxes. Right to do what we like with whom we like without the hated big government stealing from us

Sorry for ranting but what happens in the USA effects my investment too and it is disappointing right now

We spent our lives working and investing in profitable enterprise. People who take risk and compete worldwide to be the best. Not to have it stolen

I don't really get the seeming contradiction between MAGA and all these successful global businesses

Sorry feeling poor this week. Hope that tariff revenue is worth it. Lazy people

Whatever happened to no taxation without representation

And the thought that it was MAGA that destroyed capitalism. I bet Marx and Engels would be turning in their grave. We can always hope that they are sowing the seeds of their own destruction

There was huge trust in the capitalist credentials of the USA

Sorry for ranting but it's not a GFC. It's not a pandemic. It's MAGA. Cheered on by big successful corporations we used to trust to make money

I do appreciate they could be erasing the corruption dividend but some of us may not live long enough to see the returns on our risk. Investment requires trust. And I mean investment not being conned into endless unnecessary military expenditure for some so called alliance. Apparently the endlessly gullible are being told we have to buy even more.

The world has been in this stupid national socialist prorectionist armed to the hilt mess before. It didn't go well last time

Thr bulk of Europe thinking the way to peace and security is doubling defence expenditure. Did they miss out on history at school. It wasn't that long ago

Did MAGA know that great means the recession they had to have. Sadly the rest of us catch any economic disease from the USA

As to Marx and Engels, when I was 21 I took Das Kapiital (volume 1) out of the library thinking I really ought to understand what it's about. I maybe got to page 10 or so. Sort of like my attempt to read Don Quixote. Way too long and very boring. My DQ attempt was in high school, I had chosen it as something that I agreed to write a book report about. After 50 pages or so I put it aside and I read the Classics Comics version instead.I think the teacher caught on to what I had done but she let it, and me, pass.

As to investments, I have some stocks but don't ask me to tell you which ones. It's some sort of collection of stuff. It goes up and down.

I suppose I could be called lazy but I think of it as being selective as to where I put my energy. Or where I used to put my energy. I have now hired someone to mow the grass.

I am hardly a Libertarian but I do have very little interest in telling other people what they should do.

If we want to stop corruption I think that reducing the staff at the IRS is NOT a good way to go about it. It is not even a good way to save money.

I am fine with your post. I am maybe just different.

As a young kid in England, I caught Rubella. Back in those days before Political Correctness, it was called German Measles.
My parents didn't tell me much about it, I later learned that a neighbours child died from Rubella.
No one talked about these things.

As an American child in the 60's I remember hearing about it in school, but I don't think I ever knew anyone who had it. I think it was mostly talked about as a terrible disease that we now had an effective vaccine against.

Don't forget that we no longer help our allies and poor countries.

I wonder if USAID could run a GoFundMe.

I don't remember anybody coming to serious harm from "German measles" as it was called when I was a child, just that it had terrible effects the children of pregnant women

What a lot of people, including people in the US, don't realize is that the US has always had a large part that is sickly, poor and dumb.

That part has become both envious and desperate about its prospects of improvement and decided to drag the rest of us down with them.
