I am amazed that after all these years the two problems I wrote about have not been fixed. Did no one bring them to your attention?

We don't normally acknowledge suggestions explicitly.

We have very limited programmer resources. Unfortunately they're primarily devoted to implementing big new features, and minor fixes like your suggestions get low priority.
