Interesting lead against 3NT?

West, North and East were robots. Can anyone tell me how to include that in the diagram, by the way?

(This didn't happen at my table. Sitting North, I bid 3NT rather than 3, and consequently suffered a lead for 1 down. Which seems pretty normal.)

Only weenies lead partner's suit. If west wanted a heart lead, they should have overcalled in diamonds or spades.

Would that have been enough to overcome the robot's natural inclination to lead South's twice bid suit?

Yes, GIB has strong tendency ignoring pd's bid, or "signal" (if there is any, or it matters).
In my experience, 90% of the time, GIB would NOT lead the suit you bid or overcall, it would NOT play back the suit you have just opening led, it would NOT continue the suit you have just signalled as violently as possible.
It has its own computation.

BTW, in the case shown, if W is on lead against 3NT, guess what, holding KQJ9x,it would lead "4th best". Yes, the 9.
I have given an example in this forum before. I have no play in 3NT. The 4th best lead from KQJ9x gave me the 9th trick.

If it is written in a bridge book, then it must be right. 4th from longest and strongest.
