Help!! I keep losing my BBO connection. I play on MacBook Air Apple does not have any ideas. My Internet connection is good. This only started about two months ago may be in May. It’s making it impossible for me to play and I have no idea what to do. I’ve contacted BBO directly and get no response who can I take my computer to to help me? I am not at all savvy about these things

There's no general problem at our end, so the problem must be with your connection. There are connection quality bars at the top right of the BBO window, how many bars do you usually have?

There's not much we can do about this. BBO is very sensitive to connection quality, more so than ordinary web sites.

I've got no answers, but I have been repeatedly dropped during the same time period. Only once could I blame my Internet carrier. Today was the worst. I got the "Connection Lost" message at least 15 times and finally gave up. My concerns are with BBOL servers at this point.

If there were a problem with our servers, we would have seen hundreds or thousands of users losing connections, but we didn't.

Unfortunately, it's practically impossible after the fact to determine where the problem might have been. If an experienced network engineer had access to your computer while the problem were happening they might be able to narrow it down.

I'm told that sometimes connection problems require turning your modem off for a minute or so to 'clear the cache'.
I'm not sure if this is true or the tech equivalent of take two X and call me in the morning.

Problems of losing connection to BBO (logging on is another story) in my experience are more often related to wifi between your router and your device.
Which is not to say that the fault is not at least partly of BBO, but turning the router on/off is unlikely to solve anything.
Opening a door, moving to a nearer room, closing and reopening the BBO session are measures more likely to work.

If you are losing connection on a device hard wired to the router then my first suspicion would be that you are flirting with other tabs in the browser (it has become fashionable for browsers to free up resources if you change tab, in theory you can forbid this but in my experience with Chrome correctly configured BBO dies all the same).
