I feel like maybe this has been explained as nauseum here in the past, but sorry: I searched both within and outside BBO, and I reviewed the ACBL club guide for MPs. Granted that I did not spend a whole lot of time researching, but I still don't understand why I received more than the 1st place finisher in my section. ACBL daylong with 18 boards. Does this make sense? Thanks for any guidance!

See https://www.bridgeba...__1#entry965110 for the explanation of how we award masterpoints in ACBL daylongs. The explanation is that you and JPBar were in different "metasections", and your rank in your metasection was higher.
That post says the top award is 1.50. That's for 12-board tourneys, the awards are higher for 18-board tourneys such as the one you played in yesterday.

Thank you very much! I had not seen that before. So, just 'luck of the deal'. I appreciate your response...thanks again.
