Suppose you open 1NT, LHO overcalls, partner makes a sign-off at the two-level and RHO raises. When do you compete to the three-level?

Does it matter what your notrump opening range was?

Would you do something different if the auction started 1NT-(Pass)-2♥ transfer-3♥?

1. yes, with any 4 card support.
2. no, range does not matter.
3 I would need to know the exact auction and vul and my hand.

Let's make this "Any hand with four-card support, or any hand with a three card support and mostly offensive values and hardly any defensive values"
