At trick seven, the GIBBO trout in the East very stupidly plays his spade ace, crashing his partner's queen.

Absolutely WRETCHED "defence" by Frick and Frack, although to be fair, it was really ALL Frick. But a man is judged by the company he keeps, so if Frack is stupid enough to play with Frick, he deserves to be criticized anyway.

Stupid lead. Why do these GIBBO losers HATE to lead their partner's suit?

Typically useless GIB definition of 4D. Why even BOTHER mentioning points if the ONLY statement about them is a TOTALLY uninformative "16- total points"? Seriously, why even BOTHER?

Another joke of a "defence" by Frick and Frack. Another complete zero for their world-famous collection.

Stupid LEAP to FOUR hearts by West. No surprise. We EXPECT stupidity in EVERYTHING the execrable GIBBO robots do.

I actually LIKE East's reopening double, though. (Alert the press!). Note, however, that even though it is a good and wise call by East, he is violating his own (gloriously PATHETIC) GIBBO system, because it foolishly and for no discernible reason whatsoever, mandates that his bidding shows a maximum of (only!) three diamonds. In their random, illogical, antiquated, hopeless JOKE of a system, a weak two bidder is allowed to have FOUR clubs...but only THREE diamonds. Ridiculous! I'm proud of East (yes, by all means, alert the press AGAIN!) for being clever enough to IGNORE the garbage that passes for GIB definitions.

Here is yet another example of how hopelessly bad the GIB definitions are - and not only individually, but also as a complete and VERY poorly designed collection.

The definition of South's 3D is "4-5 clubs; 2-5 diamonds; 2-5 hearts; 2 spades; 15-17 HCP; 18- total points", which is an apt description of the South hand. Fine, but...

HERE'S the rub: The definition of 3H was EXACTLY the same, word for word! How overwhelmingly ridiculous is that???!!! If you were designing a bidding system, would you be SO unthinking and lazy as to have two different calls mean EXACTLY the same thing? Would you not say to yourself, "That would be wasteful. Surely I will be better off by assigning DIFFERENT meanings to 3D and 3H. That way I can differentiate between them and make my system more precise and informative." Yet GIB has absolutely NO problem in WASTING a potentially useful call by assigning the exact same definition to two (or sometimes even three!) different calls. This is just one of the many reasons that GIB definitions are SO bad and the GIBBO system is SO pathetic,

Now, since the hopeless GIB definitions foolishly assign the same meaning to 3D and 3H, it would be logical to at LEAST have South bid the (artificial) red suit where he has better values, which in this case would be hearts. Of COURSE the GIB definition would not even bother mentioning that! As South, I (perversely!) bid 3D. This DID describe my hand (as per the execrable GIBBO system) but you might ask "Why 3D? You YOURSELF, Ben, just explained why 3H would be better and more descriptive, within the confines of the repulsive GIBBO system and wasteful GIB definitions." Well, right you are, grasshopper - 100 %. However, I had two reasons for perversely choosing 3D. The first was "When in Bizarro World (meaning the backwards, antiquated, illogical GIBBO universe), do as the Bizarro People do." The second is that I frequently operate in GIBBO robot games, since I know going in that I will be playing "with" an absolute M.O.R.O.N. and that I will also be playing against two absolute M.O.R.O.N.S. Consequently, if I make a deceptive call, I am possibly befuddling ONE "partner" but will also be befuddling TWO opponents. "The odds were in my favour," as Levon Helm sang, "I had 'em two to one". Besides, I always know that my GIBBO "partner" is such a C.R.E.T.I.N.O.U.S. nitwit that he'll probably botch things whatever I do. Thus, I bid my weaker red suit, hoping to prevent a diamond lead and attract a heart lead into my AQ.

West led a diamond anyway. Perhaps if I had bid 3H he would have led a heart, given how totally illogical these GIBBO goofballs are.

Still, credit where it is due: a diamond was the best lead for EW. At trick two, however, King Bozo the First should have continued with a LOW diamond, presenting me with the losing option of withholding dummy's king (playing East for a remaining AQ doubleton). By cowardly and foolishly cashing his ace, he gave me no chance to guess wrong. One of numerous reasons that the GIBBO robots are such astoundingly weak "defenders".

Here's the same hand as in post #1587 immediately above, but from a different table. Here the anonymous human South also operated, but FAR more dramatically than I did. He opened one DIAMOND on his 72 doubleton (!) and later bid hearts twice.

West (amazingly - or should I say "PERVERSELY", given the auction?) also found the best lead of a diamond, yet here he...SHIFTED (!!!) after his JACK (!) won the first trick! These ZOOBALLS never cease to amaze, and never do so in a GOOD way. They absolutely rot.

After winning his spade ace at trick seven, the dire simpleton sitting East could and should have held me to only ONE more trick. Had he kept his fifth diamond, it would have been NO more tricks for me. All he had to do was lead EITHER red suit. Instead, total, unwavering, braindead IMBECILE that he is (and that all GIBBO robots are!) the jerk played a spade (!!!), the suit that DECLARER had just played!

If you purposely TRIED to design robots that would be HOPELESS "defenders", you would be hard-pressed to surpass the astounding lack of ability of the execrable and embarrassing GIBBO robots. They stink at anything and everything bridge-related.

North's 2D bid: Seems to me that 2C would be much more informative and much better tactically, in preparing for further competition.

The GIB definition of 2D: Please spare us the useless, unnecessary, annoying first two words ("The Law"). Who cares?

East's first two calls: Not sure that EITHER is best, given that he is FIVE-FIVE in the majors.

East's LEAP to 4H: Overcompensating? Saying to himself, "Better make up for my earlier bidding"?

North's illogical, inexplicable, perverse, bizarre, downright stupid SPADE lead: NS bid clubs and diamonds, so of COURSE the GIBBO robot (!) leads a SPADE, one of the two suits SHOWN by East via his double. A box of chocolate-covered peanuts has more brain cells than a GIBBO robot...and undoubtedly also tastes better!

On this particular layout, 12 tricks can always be made in hearts, although six declarers failed to do so. Thus, East's CLUB (!) lead did not (luckily) cost him, but WHY would he lead a club on this auction?

Here's the same hand as in post #1591 immediately above, but from a different table and with a different auction and contract. (There were MANY different auctions and different contracts on this board.)

I'm posting this to show just some of the ways that the GIBBO 2C system is, as you would expect, antiquated and wretched.

First, it's silly (and not JUST silly, but GIBBO-level silly!) to play 3D as "cheaper minor", basically saying NOTHING (as I'll show in the next paragraph) instead of playing it as natural, showing...DUH (!)...diamonds!

Here is the USELESS GIB definition of 3D: "Cheaper minor - 11- HCP; 12- total points". How is that mound of empty-headed, steaming GARBAGE of ANY help whatsoever? Here's the TOTAL information it provides: North has zero to 11 HCP and zero-12 "total" points.

That's IT, that's ALL! ALL it mentions are points, and we ALREADY knew that he had at MOST eleven HCP, because in second seat he did not open the bidding despite the fact that GIBBO robots open ALL hands with 12 HCP or more and even open some with fewer than 12. So we already knew that his upper limit was 11, and as for his LOWER limit, the definition tells us NOTHING, because "11-" literally means ZERO to 11. As for "total" points, they also tell us NOTHING here, and in GIB definitions, ANY mention of "total" points is ALWAYS worthless anyway, since GIB has no idea of the basic CONCEPT of total points.

As for shape, suits, possible club fit: NOTHING. We are told NOTHING about his hand. His 2D bid told us NOTHING. His 3D bid told us NOTHING. His most informative call on the hand was his original PASS (!) because at least THAT told us that he had at most 11 HCP.

The GIBBO 2C system is one of the WORST parts of their already PATHETIC overall system.

Later in the auction, North makes a typically wild, unilateral, completely unscientific leap to 6NT (as these lowlife drokes often do). Maybe he's basing his jump on his "stopper" (ha, ha, HA!) of 9742 in unbid suit hearts. What a complete jerk.

6NT makes...ONLY because the GIBBO robot sitting East finds the lead of the one and ONLY suit that will allow a make! Please DESTROY all the GIBBO robots. Please BURN all the GIB definitions. Please BURY the entire GIBBO joke of a system. Please replace them all with DECENT robots, DECENT definitions, and a DECENT system.

East wins trick 3. At trick 4, he actually finds the BEST shift - to diamonds. Bravo! Alert the press! A GIBBO robot FINALLY found the right suit! Well done, Mr. East! But, on second thought, ...

DON'T alert the press, because...the poor sap foolishly leads his ACE of diamonds. Then again, hold on, because maybe EW will still do okay, via a diamond to West's king followed by a diamond back to East's queen. EXCEPT that...

West, playing STANDARD signals (supposedly, although these halfwits rarely signal anyway, and even if they do, their braindead robot partner often ignores it), plays...NOT an encouraging FIVE, but a discouraging TWO.

East shifts to a club, and in the fullness of time and after FURTHER robotic stupidity (such as East's STUPID and COWARDLY pop of the club jack, followed - incredibly - by the QUEEN of diamonds and THEN a low diamond!), I am able to endplay West in spades and score 100 % on the board. East-West's STUPEFYINGLY wretched defence, with NUMEROUS errors on this SINGLE hand, "earns" them yet another WELL-DESERVED zero for their massive collection.

The GIBBO robots and their even worse (!) GIBBO predecessors are, without a doubt, the ABSOLUTELY worst (and most disgusting) "bridge players" I have EVER seen in my entire life. I have often referred to then as "garbage". I really DO hate to stoop to insults, but with these clowns I am afraid I have no choice if I want to be truthful, and the sad, if impolite, TRUTH is that they are even WORSE than garbage!

Bad lead followed by bad pitching in a pseudo-squeeze situation. 13 tricks for NS and yet ANOTHER well deserved ZERO for the hopeless nitwits sitting East-West. Bar them! Banish them! Eliminate them! Remove them! They are an oozing blemish on the face of bridge.

Regardless of result or layout, that is an uncharacteristic, HIGHLY surprising, and frankly STUPID pass by North. In his (wretched) GIBBO system, I would expect him to bid NMF, or (barring that most LIKELY call) 2NT. or even (an overbid of) 3NT. I am actually ASTOUNDED that he passed, because I have VERY often seen him invite in NT or spades with considerably weaker hands. This shows once again that the GIBBO robots are not only absolutely hopeless "bridge players" but that they are also wildly inconsistent.

Not my table, but congratulations to the anonymous human South who made an "impossible" 3NT, thanks to a typically inept and COWARDLY "defence" by the two typically fleabrained GIBBO bozos sitting East-West.

CLUB lead by East, because after all, SOUTH opened one CLUB. (Yeah, I realize that for GOOD players that would make a club lead unattractive.)

Later: ace of diamonds by East, followed by a LOW diamond rather than the jack, FORCING West to play his KING, and establishing dummy's QUEEN as the highest remaining diamond.

Spade plays by West, establishing North's JACK as a winner.

90.91 % for NS.9.09 % for EW.

Trick 5: West...OVERTAKES (!!!!!) East's heart KING (!!!!!) and then...SHIFTS (!!!!!) to a diamond, LOOKING at the established clubs in dummy! Yes, I falsecarded with the heart queen, but so what? Another WELL-deserved zero for the GIBBO imbeciles.
