Recently a director at my table made an error; mps were taken away from me and my partner. Neither I nor my partner were consulted, and opponents convinced the director after the game that they were damaged. I have since written BBO wanting an explanation and none has been forthcoming. How many have experienced behavior like this either with a director or BBO?

There are many types of tournament on BBO, in some if not most you cannot expect a Director who is competent, unfortunately.
BBO are not directly responsible for the level of direction in most of them, although they do often have a stake in holding the tournament.
If the tournament is organized by an RA or an enterprise, you have slightly more chance complaining to them directly.
Otherwise it may be better to just bite your tongue, otherwise the incompetent Director is likely to blacklist you too.
