1♥ and 1NT was acol. Opps BI as us. We play quite agressive weak 2's and 2♦ from partner would have been a weak 2. I bid 2♠, bought partner with 4 spades and made 34 of 34 matchpoints. -100 would still have been a great score.
Good bid or mad luck ?

I play a version of DONT in this position so I would bid 2clubs showing clubs and a higher suit in the balance seat.

You have some reason to think you have a spade fit, since pard didn't preempt or overcall diamonds and probably only has 1 or 2 hearts, but its nothing certain. Furthermore its MPs and if the field plays a forcing NT, you look to be fixed anyway.

A trump lead w(which is pretty automatic on this auction) doesn't seem to be helpful for taking 8 tricks in spades.

I have a secret admiration for crazy bids that work. I confess I'd pass. Next time you'll go for 300 when RHO turns up with a Flannery hand.

Hi,

It is not the worst idea to bid 2S with
only 4 cards in this position, altough
for my liking you have to many hearts.

So I would pass, but the bid is not bad,
and I dont reopen enough at MP.
