You hold:
Scoring: MP

Playing 2/1, partner is dealer and opens 1, and RHO comes in with 2 showing +minor. You now bid 3 a normal raise and LHO bids 4. Partner now bids 4 and RHO tanks for about 35 seconds and bids 5.

Your bid. Would it differ if it was IMPS?

X would be for penalties and Pass is NF.

I would pass but I think it's slightly closer to X than to 5.
The world would be such a happy place, if only everyone played Acol :) --- TramTicket

I would have bid 4S over 2S.
Is the word "pass" not in your vocabulary?
So many experts, not enough X cards.

You have exactly what you said you had, no surprises. Partner, on the other hand, has a much wider variation of hand types for 4 so the decision is his. Obvious pass.
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.

3 was OK for me.
Nothing intelligent to add now, so I pass.
Partner is better placed to make a decision, and he is the more wide ranged hand.
Kind regards,
Harald

People seem to see it very obvious, but Ace and King is a bit better than expected.

I remember on another poll the winner was to raise to 3 with a King and a Jack, I hope people who voted 3 there don't say we showed everything now :).

Hi,

playing MP, you have to get it right, i.e.
what ever you do, depends on the answer
of the question, if they did already win the
board with 5H.

Playing IMP's I would X, I dont want partner
to bid 5S, but my partner is usally not very
happy with my Xing decisions, ... but he still
plays with me.

With kind regards
Marlowe

I'll pass partner's double.
"Gibberish in, gibberish out. A trial judge, three sets of lawyers, and now three appellate judges cannot agree on what this law means. And we ask police officers, prosecutors, defense lawyers, and citizens to enforce or abide by it? The legislature continues to write unreadable statutes. Gibberish should not be enforced as law."

Obvious pass imo.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.
