This probably isn't what you had in mind, but the man always played acoustic guitar and I love his music.

When I had guitar lessons I had two albums of Julian Bream and John Williams, playing classical guitar duets.
A bit later I bought an album by John Renbourn, a folk-guitar player who was also a member of Pentangle.
For "folkies" like me this is a legendary English group.
The dutch folk band Wolverlei and the Belgium band Rum both had a very beautiful guitar sound.
Did I mention Jango Reinhardt?
