I don't penalize my partner for balancing so I bid 3 invitational. They have easy 6-7 trump tricks and possible one outside which still leaves us with good chance for 10-11 tricks in . Too bad if is not breaking but then they will make the 2.

MAGGIE what happened? I'm sure I'm not alone who really want to know what was the winning action. Or least losing :( :)

Why do you choose Axx over AKx? Both bids serves to give the message of "invitational" across, so surely 3 would be better as it allows partner to bid his 5 card (red) suit if he's able to explore game possibilities.

Mini-Necro!
That's impossible. No one can give more than one hundred percent. By definition that is the most anyone can give.

Passing not an option, after all they would be starting with 6 trump tricks and it is too easy for an accident to happen. Seems to me lebensohl is viable when it is possible for your side to have game, this is one of those cases. I will advance with 3C and hope partner is in a position to bid again.

Horrible problem. I bid 3 (I'm an advocate of Burn's Law.) I wouldn't fault partner if he tried passing or some other call, though.

While it is true that they probably start with 6-7 tricks, that isn't always the case....I once saw a hand on which the takeout doubler held a spade trick, and it may happen again sometime...maybe it just did.

I am going to pass, while hoping that we are playing with screens, or online, and that partner neither hears, smells or sees me puking.

At least I have an easy lead....
