Scoring: MP

Partner can pre-empt aggressively.
Rightly or wrongly you lead the J. You're playing udca.

1. J-3-Q-K
2. K-5-6-T
3. 4-2-A-J
4. 2-4-8-J

Your lead.

What is our club holding?
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

I'm going to be boring and trust my partner to have his bid ;)

He did, after all, feel that he wasn't going to cost us a trick by overtaking my perhaps-singleton jack.

You'd think for a unanimous poll, it would be the right answer. I was declaring this and sure enough the opp did lead a second heart. I guess it might have been more interesting in 6NT...

The full hand below (OP was rotated):

The only way to hold the contract to 2 overtricks was to lead the K (small club not good enough).

If anyone goes hunting for the hand record, it was imps scoring, but boring that way. And yes, West does have a very bad weak 2 vul, but it did happen ATT.

It's not the first time that a bad bid caused a blown trick on defense.

K return would be too difficult for me. Dude bid and played well, and deserved a top board (well, would have deserved it if it really had been MP!)
That's impossible. No one can give more than one hundred percent. By definition that is the most anyone can give.

is really obvious after the bid and overtaking J at trick 1.
