Bidding 2D seems strange. Also, the amount the X in this sequence shows seems a bit high given that 2C is a drop (I think it said 14+ when I made the bid).

The question whether GIB picked to respond with 3 card but rather whether it had a better bid- clearly hearts.

I tried to reproduce this and couldn't. The book bid is 2♥, and it also bid that in all the simulations I tried.
However, you're correct about the description of X: Takeout double -- 5- C; 4+ D; 4+ H; 5- S; 14-20 total points
That does seem a little high.

Looks like another one of those situations where GIB doesn't consider the fact that South passed over 1♠ when determining what x would show over 2♣.
