Nice poll, I would double over 1S and 2S but pass over 3S. I wouldn't be surprised if someone could convince me that I should double 3S as well.

Doing anything but pass or double at any level seems really wrong.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

100 % my feelings, except I am more confident about passing over 3S.

I'd bid 2 over 1 to limit my hand. 3 and above, I'm passing. Not sure what I'd do over 2 .

You are a passed hand and you're balancing, this is a strong hand in context, why would you want to limit your hand?
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

x over 1s/2s not enough stuff to go beyond 2s x-----------

this would have been a MUCH tougher choice if my two suits had been clubs and hearts vs dia and hearts
I have ELC on my side with the presented problem making the x much more palatable.

2 would be right if I were UNPASSED, but double is correct for a PASSED hand as partner couldn't misread my values.

I'm sure I'd get it right at the table.

I think you are wrong, but less wrong than before.

Double is just always right in the pass out seat with this hand. Even if unpassed. If you don't double here you are taking a serious hit on expected value imo.

when this hand hapened reopening 3 would lead to a makng 3NT, partner had Axx and could shut down their comunications easilly.
