I was just trying to compete, or maybe overshow my hand somewhat in that maybe it could raise to 6, but I think going for 7 here is kinda ridiculous. I should be able to compete more than that without getting put in a grand.

Absolutely right. One more aspect that we have been banging on about for years in forum posts but still not addressed in v 35
Psych (pron. saik): A gross and deliberate misstatement of honour strength and/or suit length. Expressly permitted under Law 73E but forbidden contrary to that law by Acol club tourneys.

Psyche (pron. sahy-kee): The human soul, spirit or mind (derived, personification thereof, beloved of Eros, Greek myth).
Masterminding (pron. mPosted ImagesPosted ImagetPosted Imager-mPosted ImagendPosted Imageing) tr. v. - Any bid made by bridge player with which partner disagrees.

"Gentlemen, when the barrage lifts." 9th battalion, King's own Yorkshire light infantry,
2000 years earlier: "morituri te salutant"

"I will be with you, whatever". Blair to Bush, precursor to invasion of Iraq

Isn't the system the same in both?

Psyche (pron. sahy-kee): The human soul, spirit or mind (derived, personification thereof, beloved of Eros, Greek myth).

It was advanced GIB, but idk if it matters. In either case, it has too many points to not raise given I showed 29+.

Good topic .Thanks to you.

I am a layman, I just want to express what I see. It seems that there is a failure while you play with/against advanced Gib. Please see my evidences here.

First,let's see your hand :

Result : 7SX-1
As for 5, perhaps here lacks of the definition, needs to improve it in the future.

Second, see my hand played by basic Gib, and I also think this is a standard bidding sequence, it goes :

Result : 5WX-2
After 4, north Gib will double for sure, it never pass in fact, however north Gib do pass in your advanced Gib hand, I don't know the reasons.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In fact, here there are no better general agreement on many bidding definitions or there are many interesting things. For example :

Just saying.
