Hi,
I registered BBO in september 2002. My profile card shows a date of registration on 2005/03/01.
I find that none of the players in BBO is registrated before march 2005.
Is that normal ?
Thank you in advance

That's when we started recording registration dates. Everyone who was already registered was given that date.

There is one area of BBO that is a little annoying.
It’s players not having any profile.
It is now a guessing game if a 2 opening is strong or weak (excl 2C).
Indeed a 2D opening could be Multi 2!

The BBO site is in my view first class and the only issue I have is
when one comes across a “No Profile” player.
It is not possible to play ‘proper’ bridge with a No Profile player.

I come across many players who - like me - have a statement in their
profile - “No Profile - No Play"

It would be very welcome if it was possible for BBO to insist on a
Profile during Registration before one is allowed to play.

I know it's a bit radical, but you could try asking them what they want to play. Or just assume that if they don't have a profile they'll play your profile.

If you join the first table available then you are already lucky if the host doesn't immediately boot you because he can't understand your profile.
If you play a tournament then you aren't allowed to ask and you wouldn't have time anyway.
In the tournament your random partners quite often have no idea what "accept to play 2/1" means and rarely respect your profile.
Even if they have a profile of their own then it's not clear who should prevail anyway (mine says 0314, yours says 0413; 4NT - 5?).
If you can't see all this as a major problem then you are probably used to playing amongst a trusted circle that has been playing on BBO for years.
All fine and well, but don't be surprised if new users complain or look elsewhere.
