In the old system as cards are player, they snap right into view. In the new system they slide in which takes abut a second. Let's multiply 52 cars per hand is about a minute a hand for the cards to slide into place. That's too much of time in a 30 minute 8 hand game.

I think the exact name is "Animate cards".
This was also an option in the Flash version, you probably already had it turned off.

The Flash version is much, much faster in animation.
(I had assumed that is why I am not seeing the "Race" tournaments listed under Free Tournaments.)

I usually don't play Robot Races (total points) but on the few occasions that I have, I used to notice that when GIB is declarer, the cards would fly at lightning pace. It would work equally well when "Autoplay Singleton" is on and I am declarer in other type of Robot competitions (like 55%, or vanilla Robot MPs)
Having played on a few occasions in the new version (V3), I too am of the firm belief that the system responses are slower. And this is true even when animation is switched off.
Perhaps the Robot Races players can confirm and comment as well.
