Is it still a squeeze when South can finesse both Kings and make 3 tricks in diamonds and 2 in Hearts?

The finesses only give you 2 tricks in diamonds out of the box; while the J would fall, the K would still be out.

But both East and West have to hold onto diamonds for that to work, which leads to the squeeze magic on both opponents on the last spade..

This is official meaning: Hedgehog Squeeze - A squeeze of one opponent in three suits and the other opponent in two or three suits.

Good hand to post nige1. have not heard of this squeeze before. Igelkott squeeze. spiky for the opponents lol! :)

South leads the 7 squeezing both defenders
East must keep the J to thwart the finesse of T.

You need to remove the J from West in the final diagram, Nigel. If you wind this on there are 2 ways to make - either force a discard from East and take the finesse or throw the 10 and squeeze East in the rounded suits:

South plays a to the ace and East cannot defend against both 4 and 4. Do both lines count as "hedgehogs" or is one method "better" than the other in Sonicland? Also, when I saw the hand I ran off the spades first and ended up squeezing West in the red suits on A from:

Does this officially exclude me from the Mrs Tiggy-Winkle Appreciation Society?

But suppose in Nigel’s diagram you instead remove a C? Don’t you need the guard squeeze element now as both defenders have a heart control?

Erick seems right. Edward Rasmussen pointed out that West was squeezed out of a round-suit threat, on the previous trick
