Joan Butts has a YouTube video on Capp/Ham where she claims that after a 2❤️ oc of 1NT, advancer should bid 3♣️ to find a minor fit, which partner will either pass or correct to 3♦️. Am I crazy or is that just not standard? Isn't the conventional bid to find a minor fit a 2NT "bid your minor" response over 2❤️ or 2♠️?

From my understanding 2N is the traditional response, but 3 P/C is alternatively used. For me 3 is a signoff, while 2N is stronger & leaves open the possibility of further bidding.

See above, but more precise:

It is common to have a weak relay, which is 3C and a strong relay, which is 2NT.
The strong relay showes interest in more, usually it is based on an inv. raise for the known major.

This method is also used after a Michaels Cue bid.

You need two relay, in case your 2-suited bid have a wide range.

The main question to answer, if partner showes 2-suits, do you want to be able to play in a 3rd suit,
a level higher, or not?
With kind regards

When playing 3 as a weak pass or correct you can use 3 as an INVITE in the major.
So is quite a handy method and your partner wont get excited with a big hand.

Works over Michaels after 1 Major opening too.
Sarcasm is a state of mind
