West, North, and East are GIB robots. As everyone must know, and as I have previously stated, leads are often a bit of a guess and can involve a certain amount of luck, depending on the random layout of any random hand. Having said that, however, East's lead here seems like a particularly unwise choice on the auction that took place:

West, North, and East are all GIB robots. Observe the typically ludicrous lead from West:

Shyams, re: "Oh, I thought this was the actual hand." I assume that you have now realized that what you linked was not the actual hand. Had you first looked at the hand I linked, that would have been evident.
My modified construct of your actual hand was a quick example of how every action by the West bot appeared justified.

In attempting to defend the West robot, you have pointed out an error by the EAST robot in the ACTUAL hand: namely that in the actual hand, the East robot had K65 of spades, and after winning trick one with his king, he VERY incorrectly returned the FIVE rather than the SIX at trick two. I hadn't even bothered to mention that, because I don't have the time or desire to catalog ALL their errors (or even CLOSE to all their errors), but due (only) to your post I am mentioning it now. Also, even in your modified construction, there would STILL be no need for West to shift to the TEN of clubs looking at that dummy. Little things mean a lot, and while their numerous BIG errors are beneath contempt, their numerous "small" errors are also inexcusable and often costly.

West, North, and East are all GIB robots.
Here is an example of a typically stupid overbid by the GIB robot sitting North. Whenever opener rebids his major, showing at least a sixth card in his suit, the GIB robot tends to overbid by a level if he has any semblance of support. He will almost always invite by raising to three when he should pass, and he tends to leap to four when he should merely invite by raising to three. This hand is not a GIB aberration - it is TYPICALLY stupid and EXPECTED bidding by the GIB robots in this type of situation.
