Pass

A double that forces to the 3 level needs more from me than xxxx in hearts and xx in partner's suit and 6 hcp.

He's still there, although I admit that I won't like it in the unlikely event that it goes P x P...unlikely since he won't double with 3+spades and LHO may well bump the auction if partner is short in spades...I won't mind bidding 4♥ if partner doubles 3♠.

In my experience, although not true of the first two responders, people tend to overbid here.

I think it is generally worth considering whether you wish to compete to the three-level opposite a weak 1NT.

A bit of point counting: If I have 6 HCP, LHO has 0-11 HCP, RHO (2♠ bidder) has 4-9 HCP, the odds favour partner not to hold a balanced 12-14 HCP hand.

Pass may still be the correct action, but isn't it closer than what all replies so far suggest?

Yeah but if p has more than 14 points he is going to bid game if we double.

If he has enough for game maybe he will reopen with 2NT after which we bid game. Or maybe we play Lebensohl or some such if he reopens with a double.

If he reopens with 3♣ we will have to pass I guess, and sometimes miss game.

To compete with a neg dble here is just a big position that could work out well but rates to not to. For partnerships that use lebensohl (if partner reopens) you can get out in 3C or 3H your choice.

What do you mean?
We use 'Rubensohl' after 1m-(2M)-??: 2NT=transfer Cl (at least invite); 3Cl=transfer D, ...
But you probably mean?:
1m-(2M)-DBL-(Pass)-??: Opener goes via 2NT with a weak NT?
 
In the example hand I pass. More difficult if you add ♥Q, then I probably DBL but close at IMPs (2♠ bidder can be pretty strong with a passed partner?)

Pass, of course. Now to what happens if partner reopens with a double:

I think a Leben or Ruben agreement here is trying to thread a needle with too small hole. Agree, or not?

Should 2NT here suggest this shape (a neg double hand without the strength)?

Or should 2NT be something like 3-5+ in the minors?

Is this a follow-up or a hijack?
